New York, NY — A class action lawsuit has been filed against The Engel Group, Inc. (the “Engel Burman Group”), Engel Burman Senior Housing at North Hills, LLC, Engel Burman Senior Housing at North Hills, Inc., d/b/a/ “The Bristal at North Hills,” Ultimate Care New York, LLC, Sydney Engel, and Jan Burman in the Supreme Court of New York, Queens County, Index #22287/12, alleging that the assisted living facility violated New York labor laws by routinely requiring medication and resident care aides to work without proper compensation.
The suit alleges that the Engel Burman Group and The Bristal at North Hills regularly require their medication and resident care aides to work before and after scheduled shifts, as well as during meal breaks, but do not properly compensate them for all hours worked or for overtime pay. By bringing this suit, the attorneys listed below hope to end that practice and recover the wages and overtime pay that each medication and resident care aide is due under the law.
